Offprint is operated by Daniel Belfort.
We store what the service needs and nothing else: your phone number, name, email, shipping address, the links you save, images you text us, working copies of extracted articles, and the text messages between you and the service — all for the sole purpose of producing your magazines and running your account. We never sell or share your data for advertising, and article copies exist only to print your own magazine, never to build a library or archive on our side. We may publish de-identified statistics about saving, such as how many articles readers saved in a month or which articles were saved most; they never identify a reader or show what any one reader saved.
If you ship to Mexico, Brazil or Argentina, we also ask for the tax ID that country's customs needs to deliver to you: your RFC in Mexico, your CPF in Brazil, or your CUIT or CUIL in Argentina. We use it only to ship your magazines, and we share it only with Lulu, which passes it to its carriers and to customs as needed to deliver them. We store it encrypted and keep it with your shipping address only while magazines are shipping there, so you don't have to enter it every month. We delete it within 90 days after the last magazine ships to that address, sooner if you change to an address outside those countries or delete your account. Lulu, its carriers and customs keep their own copies under their own policies.
We may show screenshots of conversations with Offprint on our website, with names and other identifying details removed.
Service providers we rely on, strictly to operate Offprint: Twilio (SMS), Stripe (payments — we never see your card number), Lulu (printing and shipping), Anthropic (processing your messages to us and helping choose from items you ask us to pick from), Resend (email), and Fly.io (hosting). Mobile opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties for marketing.
if you follow a creator or reader referral link, we use a first-party cookie for up to 30 days to remember its source and distinguish a repeat browser visit from a first touch. we connect an accepted referral to signup and payment history to measure referrals, award reader credit, and calculate creator fees. we may also ask how you heard about offprint; answering is optional. referral reporting does not expose your phone number, email, messages or saved content to the person who referred you, and we do not share your messaging consent with them.
If you connect a reading library such as Sublime, you sign in on the partner's page and we receive read-only access, which we store encrypted so we can read your library when you ask. To pick pieces, we read the titles, links, authors, descriptions, tags and save dates of items in your library, and the article text the partner provides. We also note whether you favorited or highlighted an item, to help choose, but we do not store the text of your highlights. When we ask the partner for picks, we may tell it which items you already have, so it does not suggest them again.
When you connect, we start preparing working copies of pieces we might suggest; the copies you do not keep, and the item details we read, are deleted right away when you disconnect, and otherwise within 30 days. Pieces you keep in a magazine are stored like any link you send us.
If you disconnect, we delete our stored access right away and stop reading your library. The partner doesn't yet offer a way to remove Offprint's access on its side, so we delete our access as soon as you ask us to disconnect. We do not send the partner your phone number, address or payment details, or your messages, except the author, topic or title you ask us to look for in your library.
If you reach us from a link on our site or in our posts, the first text you send us may carry a short code, sometimes invisible, and your browser may keep that code for up to 7 days. We use it only to know which page or link brought you, and we never share or sell it.
Want your data gone? Email dani@getoffprint.com from your account email, or ask in the text thread, and we'll remove your account, messages, images, and stored articles.
